Counters and RSS

Counters are a way of viewing how many people have visited your website. Once they have been set up they will increase by one every time the web page is accessed in a web browser. They are quite useful in gaging the popularity of a web site, aka. the number of hits you've had. I added one from "easy hit counters" which i think is pretty cool - so far i've had 26 views! woooop!
Now onto RSS, aka. Really Simple Syndication. I really don't find this all that simple, but i'm sorta lacking in the intelligence in the multimedia department! okay, so RSS is..... a web feed used to alert people to frequently updated content. Things such as blog entries, podcasts, headlines etc. which you can then subscribe to and receive automatic updates! ingenious! It saves you wasting time going to sites constantly to check for updates, when you can simply have them emailed to you automatically for example.
Google reader is an excellent example of RSS. Within your google reader account you search for various feeds off the internet and then subscribe and get instant updates within reader. I subscribed to "quote of the day", "how to of the day" the MPI104 blogspot and a couple of other random interests! fun fun fun!
